July 22 – July 28
The camp will be July 22nd-26th from 9 to 4 with the productions of the final show being held the evenings of July 26th and 27th. If these two shows sell out, we will have an additional performance on July 28th at 2pm. All of this will take place at Harper Chapel UMC in Osage Beach, Missouri! It will be open to kids that have just completed 2nd- 8th grades . “Littles” who have just completed grades K &1 – these ages can attend from 9am to 11am daily but will still have roles in our final performances. Our registration fee is $20 for the week and includes the camp, lunch and snacks! We will also have early drop-off and late pick-up available for working families. Camp enrollment is limited so don’t wait to sign up. Camp leadership includes many arts and education professionals from our congregations.
Camp time will include exploration of the comics of Charlie Brown as it relates to biblical principles and teachings. There will also be recreation time, lunch time, snack time, and much more. You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a musical based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz that follows Charlie Brown and his friends through a typical day in their lives. The show is told through a series of vignettes and songs that mimic the four-panel format of the original comic strip and explore life’s big questions
The camp will end in a full-scale musical production performed on both Friday night July 26th and Saturday night July 27th, with both performances being at 7:00 pm at Harper Chapel’s Thompson Hall. It is required that campers attend all five (5) days of camp as well as the performances in order to participate. Please do not sign up for this camp if you cannot meet this requirement.
This camp is offered at $20 per camper enrollment fee. Tickets to the performances for audience members will need to be reserved in advance and will be by donation.
This camp is a joint endeavor sponsored by the congregations of Faithbridge and Harper Chapel United Methodist Churches, but campers do not need to be members of these churches in order to participate. Jo Beth Nicklas is the camp director.
